Hi

i_step is a variable which indicates the stage of the query.

I_STEP = 1 - before variable screen, usually used to populate default values.

I_STEP = 2 - after variable entry. This is used when say user enters a value and u need that value to process some other variable or so.

I_STEP = 3 - you can check the values of the variables and if the value is not valid can call the variable screen once again.

I_STEP = 0 - This is during authorization check.

I_STEP 1 - before variable screen ..ex: variable screen with default value fiscal year 2010

I_STEP 2 - after variable entry.

ex: the user need to give 2009 as fiscal year

I_STEP 3 - you can check the values of the variables and if the value is not valid can call the variable screen once again.
