We have over 3000 purchase orders but can't select range

On a crystal dashboard, there seems to be a row limit of around 500 maximum. We need to have 3000+ rows being selected as the data selection but can't get over 500+.

Is there a way of having the bypassing the limitation?

Select a range of cells to be placed in say a grid control = "Sheet1!$A$4:$D$555" - we really need over 3000 not 555 but just to show limitation. After selecting a range like this, it produces the following Error Message:

"Your range has been reduced to the maximum rows allowed."

It then reduces the range to "Sheet1!$A$4:$D$515" and tosses the 555 replacing it w/ 515.

Is there a patch or hotfix or something that can allow us to increase the range??? Is the limitation done to avoid performance degredation? Since we can't see all our data, we would rather it acts like a dog than cut off our data (aka better to allow user to choose a range as per their business requirements rather than restrict the range on the user.

Hi,

You can increase the number of rows for handling formula reference in following option.

File->Preferences->Excel Options-> Maximum Number of Rows->

But it is not advisable to do so, since it may affect the performance of dashboard.

Keep posting.

With best wishes

Yes, I bumped up the Excel count but it still doesn't work. We are not using XCelcius directly but using it through a data connection (aka via a 3rd party so it could be the 3rd party isn't pushing enough data somehow since we can't control the 3rd party).

We are using Skire as the front end to display a swf file from XCelcius but we can't try directly because we can't retrieve exactly what they are sending to XCelcius so it could be one or the other causing the problem.

It is not an XCelcius bug but a data connection issue in Skire software.
