Hi,

I am new to netweaver and have installed one WAS 6.40 with EP 6.0 and want to use as backend system the R/3 4.6C

What do i need to do to integrate the WAS with the R/3?

The main goal is to implement ESS in the portal.

Thank you,

Lots of things....

Start with reading up on the ESS docs and seeing what its requirements are first. You can find them along with the ESS business pkg here on SDN under downloads.

At a minimum you will need someone from the basis team for the 4.6C system to help you with the parameters and setting you might require in that system. Things like user accounts, patches, SSO, and authorizations all come to mind.

Oh yes, and read the docs... http://help.sap.com - check into the Portal System Landscape for how to setup the connections to R/3.

Nick,

I have installed ESS for ERP 2004, but now I need to install it for 4.6c.

It seems that ESS is a little bit differente (based on its, iacs, etc)

I cant find the ESS installation steps.. Could you give me a clue?

For my understanding:

1. install sap ep 6.0 sp12

2. install ESS business package for 4.6c

3. ?????? *i dont know how to install the ess iacs =(

Thanks a lot for your help !!!!!

Be aware that you can not use NW04 intergrated ITS for a 4.6c system. You will have to install ITS 6.2 on a different box and contect to your back end via that server.
