I am pleased to announce the new SQL Anywhere Forum Q&A site which is available at http://sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com.

The contents of SQLA (as of 10AM EST on March 11, 2011) have been copied to the new SQL Anywhere Forum Q&A site.

Please see the FAQ (http://sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com/faq/) to read more about what is new in sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com.

If you wish to keep your reputation that you have accumulated on the SQLA site and you have trouble logging into the new site using your OpenID account then you can reauthenticate on the new site provided you have a valid email address associated with your SQLA user account. To reauthenticate your account on sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com, follow the steps listed in the first question of the FAQ.

Please post your comments and questions on the new SQL Anywhere Forum Q&A site. Please tag all questions about the new site with the "meta" tag. We will use your input to enhance the FAQ.

No more bounties - So what is Breck now gonna do to "embarrass" people? (FWIW, IMHO bounties never seemed to work in their original sense - help has been given regardless of bounties, so it's no loss if they are unavailable. )

March 4th Update: Note that I have pushed the switch-over date back a week due to the need to fix a bug in Sqlanywhere-forum site which is causing comments/answers to be lost (at what appears at random) when a comment is changed to an answer. Hopefully we'll have this fixed by next Friday? Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions so far. Keep them coming.

Today is March 11th, that is, the week is over ;).

A couple of changes to the site that were not in the beta:

  • all files uploaded are now scanned for viruses. If the scan fails, the upload is cancelled.
  • email notifications are disabled for users migrated from the old SQLA site. If you want to enable email notifications, click on your user name at the top, then select "User tools > email notification settings" from the menu at the top.
  • a number of actions require a higher reputation score than they did in the beta
