Variant Configuration

Hi all,

I am basically a BW person and was wondering how does Variant Configuration & BW link. I keep reading posts on SD module-Variant Configuration with BW. I know this is a very basic question, but will really appreciate if someone could enlighten me.

Hi

First know what is variant configuration

I will giv u one rough example of variant configuration

When various subcomponents makes up a material .......every subcomponent can have its own properties..change in the properies of subcomponents will vary the overall nature of the product and whole set of reports you need to analyse will be on that perspective

Take example as car..car has lot of subcomponents...think color of the car...assume in a market red color has more value and Diesel version is more value...like the properties of subcomponents changing the whole set of equation for the main product... is called variant configuration

i guess i didn´t get you right. Would you like to know how the extraction is working or are you wondering what to do with variant configuration in BW?
