Using Replacement path to pass values after condition

Former Member

Hi Friends,

I am using a replacement path variable in one of my queries which is populated from another query.

The other query has a condition which works fine..displaying only the valid results..but the variable in my first query is getting populated with all the values from this query irrespective of the condition.I need only the valid records to be passed..

Hope I made it clear..pls let me know if any more clarifications are required..

Thanks a lot

Ashish..

Hi Ashish,

We are using this scenario and it works fine...are you having a problem with just one query set up this way?

Thanks for responding Bhanu..

I have this issue with all queries where I tried to use this technique..

I would just like to add that my condition is based on a calculated Key figure which is a formula based on 2 Keyfigures in the query..

Any suggestions???

Ashish.

Hi ,

I did check my condition again and run it based on the Keyfigure..but still all the values are being passed irrespective of the condition..

Was your scenario the same..Or I am missing something here...

Please let me know

Thanks

Ashish..

Hi Ashish,

i have also tested with a formula and the condition worked fine.

Could it be that the variable worked fine, but some other settings in your result query gave you all rows? Please test the variable in a simple result query, so that you can be sure it's really a failure of the variable.

Then I think it's an oss-note.

Hello Ashish,

Please try to first create the query for a valid condition and send this value to the next query. Please then tell us if the same scenario that you are facing is still happening. Please also can you enclose below the service pack and version of the BW system that you are using.

Hi Guys..

The problem was with the condition in the first query..

the condition was giving valid results even earlier..

but

When I marked the condition applicable to the lowest granular characteristic and passed it to the other query it went thru fine..

Thanks a lot for all your help

Ashish..
