We plan to use the EP Content Management Solution to allow many of our business users to develop and manage content on our internal portal. For non-portal applications that are used by people outside our company, we have a group preparing to evaluate 3rd party web content management (WCM) products (e.g FileNet's WCM). I'm wondering if the SAP EP Content Management solution would work for non-portal apps. Is anyone doing this? Is there any functionality loss or issues?
Thanks,
Bob
Hi Bob,
pretty generic question. I will try a pretty generic answer
Basically what you have to ensure is a sort of common exchange or persistence media. This could be a repository (WebDav, file system) as the easiest way. Once you have established this connection the CM would be able to adopt services on those documents.
Of course you might be limited to CM functionality and there might be services offered by 3rd party systems that CM does not offer.
Hope that helps,
