Using Crystal Reports 2013 Designer with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio

I currently use Crystal Reports 2011 Designer to create and modify reports that I then deploy as part of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  I do this for two reasons.  The first reason is I can use the additional features found in the 2011 Designer that don't exist in the Visual Studio version.  The second, and best reason, is the 2011 designer is easier and "better" in general with formatting.

I see that Crystal Reports 2013 Designer is available and was wondering if I can use it to modify reports that I will then deploy as part of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  Basically is Crystal Reports 2013 Designer compatible with the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio?

Thank you.

Yes. Absolutely. In a nutshell CR 2013 is simply an upgrade from CR 2011, they are the same version (2011 = v. 14.0.x, 2013 = v. 14.1.x), just renamed to sync up with BOE 4.1.
