Hello, I have been integrating Crystal Reports 2011 with our ECC environment. I have worked through the report development and have it working form my desktop in Crystal Reports 2011. I now want to get this running form BI LanuchPad. I have installed and configured BI launchPad and have installed the integration kit as well. When I upload the report to BI LuanchPad and try to run it, I get a logon box that immediately returns empty. Too fast to have gone back and forth from SAP. I have searched high and low for documentation on this subject but have not been able to overcome.
The report logon box comes up with the correct host and logon details in the connection string I can see. Just does not seem to get to the box.
Any suggestions.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi,
did you configure the SAP Authentication for your BI Server and are you using the SAP Credentials to logon to the BI Server / BI Launchpad ?

Don, Thanks for moving the post and Ingo thanks for the reply... We had in fact installed the SAPGUI on the server.. It turned out to be an incorrect entry in the services file.
However, I would like a definitive answer on what is required on the server to run reports off ECC via LaunchPad in BOE. I know Crystal Reports uses the GUI components to logon when on the desktop, so I made the assumption the SAPGUI would be needed on the BOE server. The documentation that I saw is kind of sparse on this subject.
There is a lot of information in terms of standard connectivity, getting the Integration Kit installed was easy and logging on to BOE when connected was easy. However getting Crystal Reports 2011 and ECC together running from BI LaunchPad was not covered in terms of the individual technical pieces. However, I know some of this is new and ever changing.
This customer is running Crystal Reports desktop client and distributing rpt reports via the launchpad. 3 - 4 BA's will build reports and park them for use in LaunchPad. There is a bit of guessing along the way as far as taking the above scenario and developing an integrated solution. Either way we are almost complete with our POC and will be moving forward.
You folks are always a lot of help when asking these far out questions.. much appreciated and happy holidays.

Thanks for the reply..This is a connectivity issue, I am stuck unable to connect to the database.. From the desktop I have everything working, when I move the .rpt file to the Server / BI LaunchPad environment I am unable to connect. I am prompted as I should, but it returns with a cleared blank logon in a split second... something is missing in the server environment that Crystal Reports needs to logon to SAP.
To deploy CR2011 via LanchPad do you need a functioning SAPGUI on the server that is executing the CR .rpt file?
