user-exit in portals

Hello everybody, Anyone knows if exist something like the user-exit or field-exit of R/3, but in Portals ? Thanks

I don't think there are user exits in Portal. if you need to modify an existing application for example from the business package, then you need to modify it in the component system and not in Portal.

Portal normally displays what you have in the backend system. Ofcourse you can develop your own Iview or webdevelopment and deploy it.

But if I modify applications can be deleted with new releases isn't?
