User exit help

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

I have to create two separate variables with user exit processing type (both interval types) on two date fields, say ZDATE1 and ZDATE2. The requirement is that the user must enter values for the interval in only one of the variables and not in both, but he must enter atleast one range. I am trying to do this in user exit. Can somebody help me find a better way to do this? And if user exit is the only way, is it possible to display error messages if the user tries to enter both or does not enter any variable?

Please help.

Thanks in advance,

Santosh Reddy

Hi Jimmy,

Actull, it is one variable per date charactreistic and the requirement is in that way because, the user's want the flexibilty of entering either/or but not both because that would not deliver the right results in the report. I also cannot make either variable mandatory because of the way it is setup. I would really appreciate it if you can help me with the code.

Thanks,

Santosh
