Hi All,
We are doing the proto type for upgrade from 3.0 to 7.0 and we could not get a clear picture on the use of "Semantic group" when and how it is used.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Here we define the key fields for the error stack and remember that this is applicable only when ur target is a DSO.
If any error occurs in the uploading, then the data records with the same key which you have defined under the semantic key are written to the error stack along with the incorrect data record and these records will not be updated to the target DSO.
Hope this info helps..
Cheers.

Hi:
Semantic group is a feature in the DTP (data transfer process) that is used define a key for evaluation.

The key determines which records should be detained when processing. For example, if you define "order number" and line as the key, if you have one errorenous record with an order number 123456 line 7, then any other records received in that same request or subsequent requests with order number 123456 line 7 will also be detained.
Think of semantic groups as the key of the error stack - it's a data quality feature really.
Thanks for any points you choose to assign.

Hi Ron
After we have applied an oss note the semantic group is now active in our bw system. But it seems that this new feature costs a lot of performance. in the transaction sm 50 we detect that a lot of time is be used to read the error stack. do you know how we can speed up this?
