Re Upload image is broken

Newly uploaded files will work. Note that the images in this question and Volker's answer were never uploaded in the first place, so that's why they don't show up.

Tried again, but the issue still remains: The image seems to get uploaded, but the URL remains empty...

BTW, I tried to add a comment with a "@Reimer" intro - yes, I read the maintenance log:). That gave a reproducibale "Sorry, a problem occured" error. Omitting the @-sign does work.

The fix was in a javascript file so you may have to reload the page or even restart your browser. I have seen cases where Firefox doesn't reload js files that have changed until I force it to. I haven't seen that problem on Chrome. No idea about IE or Safari or anything else.

This is a different bug. Part of it will be fixed the next time I restart the web server (you won't get the error, but the text will not be linked), but part of it is an OSQA bug which I will report. The problem is that you are responding to Reimer who edited an answer but didn't write one, so he's not listed among the "active users" on this question - those are the only users who get linked.

@Graeme: so this works because you posted an answer?

Yes. The "active users" list for a question consists of the question author, all answer authors, and all commenters. People who edit stuff only are not in the list. I've entered this as a bug in OSQA, though they may decide that editors shouldn't be included in the list anyway.

I remember having such issues in the forum beta when I closed the upload dialog too soon.

FWIW, I have uploaded images/files several times in the past weeks, and now this one:

alt text

aarh - fails, too.

Quod non erat demonstrandum.

Time to link to this page🙂
