upgrading NWDI from NW04 SP24 to SP25

Hi all,

At present we have NW04 SP24 Portal and following components

SAP_MSS-->100 SP20

SAP_ESS-->100 sp20

BP_ERP4ESS-->60.2 SPnull

BP_ERP4MSS-->60.1 SP1

SAPDEVINFF-->6.40 SP24

SAP_DEVINF-->6.40 SP24

Here we have following concerns about the upgrade to SP25

1.is it required to upgrade ESS and MSS and anything on ERP side along with Portal upgrade to Sp25

2.After upgrade NWDI to SP25, all the present tracks with custom components will work as it is?without any changes to it

or we need to build it once again from scratch, beacause we have lot custom components as well as ESS customization also

Can please provide any supporting documents and notes related above questions

You don't need to update portal and the portal content.

Nothing to do with NWDI.

Hi Gopala,

feel free to upgrade your NWDI from 640 SP24 to 640 SP25.

NWDI is only a framework, it'll not affect the content (i.e. your ESS track(s)).

without any issues for webdynpro application running as of now?

For this you can refer SAP note 1098009, 1296463 and 960549.

Yes, you should upgrade ESS/MSS to keep it in sync with NW SP level. You can check below link for SP level of ESS/MSS with NW patch level and backend system patch level:

It should work as such there is no well known issue with existing track after upgrade.

1. Notes not providing any information related to NW04,we need notes for webdynpro Java

2. Link gives about ERP6 , we are at ERP5, we have checked that link before.

Here our concren , is there any related note or link ,which provides Based on WAS SP's level what is the required SPs for ESS and MSS and the ERP stack

because we are going to upgrade NW04 Sp24 to Sp25 only, is it realy effects any thing on ESS and MSS and ERP
