Hi,

We are planning to upgrade SAP SRM 7.0 on our demo server to latest versions. Is the use of solution manager mandatory for this kind of upgrade. Let me know if this can be done without solution manager.

Appreciate a quick response.

Regards,

Deeraj Shetty

Hello Deeraj,

As others already confirmed, you should need solution manger to upgrade SRM7.0 as during upgrade procedure it would ask you to provide stack.xml file. Hope it answers your question.

Thanks,

Hi,

In my opinion, you are better off with a Solution Manager in your landscape. The stack.xml is now an integral part of any upgrade to the latest releases. Without Solution Manager, you cannot get a stack.xml and without the file, you will not be able to proceed with the upgrade at all.
