upgrade from BW3.x to BI7.0

Hi Experts,

please give me some details about the tasks that have to be done by a BI consultant, while upgrading from BW3.x to BI7.0.

Should there any extra efforts be put on the custom objects, since the R/3 side also have changed from its previous versions...

points assured for helpful replies.

Hi,

I migrated from 3.0b to BI 70 SP10.

For the extraction of data from R/3 part, we don't have change anything. It worked.

What you could find as problem concerne authorization and Web reporting.

If you choose to implement new authorisation concept, you need to create or maintain a lot of roles. And the tests that come with.

Concerning Web Template, you can keep your web templates in 3.x version or it exists a tool to migrate web templates from 3.x to 70. But as i experience, it does not work really well.

We choose to stay in 3.x version. It does not really change but you have to adjust your web templates because sometimes they behave differently.
