Hi,
How to find the existing installation is unicode or non-unicode?.

If you're logged on to the system,
in the menu path just go to
System -> Status
On the right site of the window in the "SAP System data" area there is a field "Unicode System" just saying 'YES' or 'NO'

Hi Sam,
run disp+work.exe from command prompt from the path. \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\run
This will give you whether UNICODE or NON-UNICODE System

Hi,
SAP NetWeaver AS (formerly SAP Web AS) supports both unicode and non-unicode for ABAP application server(AS). J2EE AS is always unicode.
SAP NetWeaver BI supports both unicode and non-unicode for the ABAP AS. All other SAP NetWeaver solutions are unicode only.
mySAP business suite apps support both non-unicode and unicode at the moment.
You have to specify non-unicode or unicode when you order SAP Software. I believe the default is "unicode".
You can find more info on the SAP Service Marketplace quick link UNICODE (http://service.sap.com/unicode)
I hope this helps,
Mike.
