Hello. In a three tier system, does the documented +50% increase in RAM for Unicode vs. non-Unicode systems apply to both the DB and Application Instances, or just the DB?
Many thanks in advance
Mark
Both will be affected (maybe for application instances a little bit less than 50%)

Hi Mark,
The documented recommendation (+50%) generally for both. DB and Application Instance. However, my experience is that the Memory requirement increases majorly in Application instances (as you have to almost double your R/3 buffers, parameter area etc) whereas extra CPU is mainly used in DB instance.
Please check note 790099 for detail.
Cheers !!

PS: pls reward points if the answer is helpful..thx.

Mainly for DB only.
