Unable to Create EPM Report or Unable to refresh EPM Report After BPC upgrade

Hi Experts,

I have recently upgraded from BPC10.1 SP04 to BPC10.1 SP18,

After that I am unable to create EPM Report or even Unable to refresh EPM Report.

I tried below solutions:

1. Activating ENVIRONMENTSHELL using program UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT.

2. Additionally, I have executed couple of other programs like UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE, UJXO_CLEAN_CACHE, UJXO_CLEAN_DIM_CACHE, UJXO_CLEAN_TDH_DIM_CACHE

3. Also I have done Clear Metadata Cache under EPM >>More.

But still I am unable to create EPM Report & unable to refresh any EPM report/input templates.

My Live environment (Custom Environment) name is say XYZ. Do I need to execute the program UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT for the custom environment XYZ or is there anything else is required to fix this issue.

Could you please help me on this issue ?

EPM version used?

EPM Version used is EPM 10.0 SP38 Patch1. ( the older EPM was EPM 10.0 SP23, where everything was working well).

Hi Experts, I am adding my research & solution as below:

(1) I have executed the program UJHANA_REFRESH_VIR_CUBE (additional to previously mentioned programs) & tried creating ad-hoc report with base members (for all the dimensions), Now Data is appearing successfully & quickly.

(2) Earlier I was trying to create ad-hoc EPM Reports with Context members (all parents) . Also I was Refreshing existing report (with all parent members in context ). that’s why it might have taken a lot of time & resulted in timeout error (for report creation or report refresh). Later once I tried creating EPM report with base members , it worked quickly.

Do not know whether point (1) or (2) resolved my issues, but the issue is resolved after those steps.

Just one more comment I want to add : There are so many reports that are using EPM Context (with all Parent member selection) & I never get timeout error during refresh -earlier with older EPM. But anyway, the issue is resolved for newer EPM (i.e. EPM10.0 SP38 Patch1) now.

If you have any inputs on this , you are welcome. please advise !

Sorry, but there is no general solution for the issues like you have. Specific report have to be analyzed in details. You can always check creating report for sample model in the ENVIRONMENTSHELL to ensure that you are able to create a report.

Hi vadim.kalinin , I tried implementing your advise, but below is the situation:

-> in BPC Web-Admin, the ENVIRONMENTSHELL is not available for me (a user without SAP_ALL Profile) whereas users having SAP_ALL Profile can access both the environments .

Therefore I can not create an ad-hoc report on ENVIRONMENTSHELL (as you advised).

If you could recommend something on this, please help.

ENVIRONMENTSHELL access don't need SAP_ALL!

You can be a BPC admin or just the user with access rights to ENVIRONMENTSHELL

Best of all, ask admin to copy ENVIRONMENTSHELL to some other name and ask access for a copy.
