Tutorial "Integrate ChatBot with SAP Process Automation" - Not possible in Free-Tier?

Dear experts,

I was trying to do the Group "Integrate ChatBot with SAP Process Automation" on sap.developers.com which is also tagged with the "Free Tier" label. However when doing the second tutorial in this group that is also called "Integrate ChatBot with SAP Process Automation" it is not able to create the respective service binding with the SAP Process Automation free plan, as with it only a subscription is available and no own instance.

Therefore my question would be if there is any chance to get the both service SAP Process Automation and SAP Conversational AI connected somehow in the Free Tier?

Thanks & Regards,
Raphael

Hi Raphael,

To help us identify the issue: please go to your BTP Cockpit > Entitlements > Service Assignments
and take a screenshot of Intelligent Robotic Process automation and also SAP Process Automation (Search using search bar), and we'll provide you with a solution after that

Okay, it seems that you have almost everything ready.
Please, on the BTP Cockpit, go to: Services > Instances and Subscriptions then create a new Instance:
Instance: Standard
Service: SAP Process Automation
plan: standard

Hi Ilyes,

sorry somehow I got no notification that you provided an answer. Yeah I can do so, but my aim was to try it out in free tier. If I will create an instance with the standard plan the pricing kicks in and I will be charged, don't it?

Best regards,
Raphael

When you subscribe to SAP Process Automation in Free tier , it's instance is created automatically.

You can navigate to Free tier subaccount where SPA has been subscribed and create the Service Binding .

I noticed your screen shot and realized that you have RPA and SAP Process Automation on same subaccount which should not be the case. Ideally you cannot subscribe to Process Automation if your sub account already has RPA.It would end up in throwing an error.

Not sure what is the process that you had followed to for subscribing to Process automation. Did you add it manually or through Booster?

Hello Chaitanya,

the screenshot were just the available services in the global account and not the subscribed/entitled once in my subaccount. There I really only have SAP Process Automation enabled. I even think it is not possible at all to have both in parallel.

I also just have used the Booster to get SAP Process Automation running. I tried it also once again if something has maybe changed in the Booster setup since then. However, this is again the result:

Just a subscription and no instance created. In you screenshot it is also visible that an instance with the plan "standard" was created and not "free". So this one would come with costs I suppose.

Thank you for the feedback however it seems that it is only possible to create an instance with the "standard" plan (that comes with cost) and for the "free" plan only a subscription is possible.
