Hi,
I need to install TRex on my machine. Are there any installation guides available which I can refer.
Thanks,
Sri

Hi Patricio and Praveen,
Thanks for all the information. I did follow the instructions from the official installation guide. Now, the first time when I did the install, I had not disabled the Default Web Site in Internet Information Services. So, I did not see "SAP_TREX_02" below the "Default Web Site". So, the next time, I first stopped the Default Web Site and then did the install. This time, I did see SAP_TREX_02 folder. The installation proceeded without any error. Why do we have to disable the Default Web Site? Also, in the installation guide it asks us to Restart the web server (under procedure for Microsoft IIS 5.x). Can you please tell me how to restart the Web Server? I tried to start the Default Web Site, however I got a message that "This request is not supported". Also, when I went to TRex Monitor in my portal, I got the following message for Server Status: "The name server is not running or no name server is configured in TREX Service Properties. Start J2EE Admin to change the properties." I am not sure why this is happening. Can you please help me? Thanks for all your valuable time and help.
Sincerely,
Sri
Hi Sri,
Did you make an entry in the Visual Admin for the TREX service?
If you go to Visual Admin there is a service called TREX service you have to make an entry
tcpip://<nameserver>:<port>
For example server name is MyServer
Port is 30201. You can get the value from the TrexNameServer.ini file under the trex installation directory.
tcpip://MyServer:30201

Prakash
Hi Everyone,
I think I have got TRex up and running. Thanks to all of you for all the excellent information. Prakash, as per your advice, I went to Visual Admin. and keyed in the NameServer address. Then, when I went to TRex Monitor, I could see the Name Server running. However, it so happened that the Http Server was not running and also the Index and Queue Servers were not to be seen. So, I went to IIS and this time I was able to stop the Default Web Site and I then started SAP_Trex_02. Then I was able to see that the http, Queue and Index Servers were running. Please correct me if I am wrong, does this happen because the connection to TRex server was not initially established through the default website? Also, finally when I ran the pythonscript, runInstallation.py I got the following error:
File "C:\usr\sap\trex_02\python_support\runInstallationTest.py", line 4, in ?
from testbase import TestBase, TestError
File "C:\usr\sap\trex_02\python_support\testbase.py", line 6, in ?
import fuzzypy
ImportError: No module named fuzzypy
Are there any other configurations remaining to be done? Thanks again to all for your valuable time and great help.
Sincerely,
Sri
