Transport Request on BEx query hung while Import to Prod

Former Member

hi all

we have problem while tranporting Request from our BI Dev  to BI Prod server.

The transport requests contains all the query elements of the BEx query.

we have released the request and started importing it in to BI Prod and we see that it is still running with the truck symbol.

It has been now for more than 1 day and the transport request is hung. with still the status showing truck symbol.

this is what the log overview shows

Request you to suggest what might be the reason for the request hung for so long time. ( is the problem with the request or some Basis issue)

also what should we do now in order to stop this request

Regards

Hi Sandy,

1. Generally query elements of the BEx query takes less time to get imported. Check the status of the TR in Import monitor and job status in SM37 (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25787).

2. If the job is cancelled, try re-importing the request.
3. If the above steps did not help you, include all the elements in a new request or split them into two different request and try importing the new request(s).

Hope this helps.

Hi Sandy,

If it is running for a long time without any changes in job log at application server level, you may cancel the job with the help of your Basis Team. But before canceling make sure that the job is not proceeding without any update.

yes its better you cancel the job if it running for long time... and try re-importing and mak sure you dont have anything else but the query elements in the transport, generally query elements get imported quickly, also ask your Basis/Hardware team to check how were the Re-Do logs during the import of that transport.

Hi,

It seems like you collected the all objects in one request so that  its not moved to the production. is it possible split the objects collect the different request then transport then it may your issue will solve.
