Transport related

Hi,

I need technical clarification on a transport.

I have a query in Dev with 2 characteristics and 2 KeyFigures. This was collected in a request, say, BWD123.

I released this BWD123 and transported successfully to Quality.

Now I made a change to the same quer to include one more Characteristic and collected in a request, say, BWD456.

I released this BWD456 and transported successfully to Quality.

Now, if I transport BWD123 to Production, will the query have 2 characteristics or 3 characteristics?

Thanks,

Dona

Dona,

the request will have only the first version with it - the query elements are system generated field mappings in the back end called GUIDS - this changes every time you change something to a query and hence the history is maintained.

I am a little technically challenged here Arun.

Does what you say mean that if I transport BWD123 to Prod, I see 2 characteristics and 2 Key Figs?

and I choose to send BWD456 to Prod, I see 3 characteristics and 2 Key Figs?

Thanks,

Dona,

If you transport BWD123 to Prod, Then you will see 2 characteristics and 2 Key Figs. You will see the query as it was in Development when you released BWD123.

Anyhow, in order to keep consistency between 3 different systems ( DEV, QUA and PRD ) the proper transport procedure would be:

1st - Transport to PRD BWD123

2nd - Transport to PRD BWD456

Andreu
