Transport in BW

I had finished from extracting data to 2 infocubes in BW

One of them using data flow 7.0 and the other using 3.5 flow

This all done in DEV environment

So I need to transfer all infoobjects and InfoCubes and dataSources from DEV to QA then to Production

I need help in the required procedured to do this

And after the objects is transfred to the other environment what is other steps should be done as source system will be different?

Thanks a lot for this document

But I have a question in document inform me that when I am activating any infoobject this will cause a window for creating a request but this didn't appear to me in the DEV environemnt

The other question that after the objects is transfered what is the next steps should be done for example in QA

( I am focusing in the source system that is ECC Dev in the case of BW Dev and after transport the source system will be also ECC Dev not ECC QA)

Hi Mohammed,

1) Before importing the transport you need to maintain the transport path as below

BI DEV system --->BI QA System -->BI Prod System

ECC Dev system --->ECC QA System ---> ECC Prod system

2) check the RFC connection connection between ECC and BI systems

3) maintain "conversion of logical system names" between your system BI systems and ECC systems.

you can do this in RSA1-->click on tools in menu bar and select "conversion of logical system names"

here enter source system as DEV BI and target system as BI QA system.same way maintain in both the systems.

4)now collect the object into transport by going into RSA1-->transport connection.

collect your data source into one request in ECC dev system.

5)release this transports in BI and ECC dev systems.

6)first import the ECC transport first.

7)Before importing BI transports, as you are making changes to CUBE if you have any data in this CUBEs in quality system you to delete data first.

then implement the transport.

Load the data again from source system to BI system.

Thanks a lot for the detailed steps but I didn't understand step no.3

Do you mean by system logical conversion is to change the source system in BW QA to be ECC QA instead of ECC Dev which will be transported from BW Dev??

Hi mahmood,

Yes.

You need to maintain this for both ECC and DEV system separately.

Say while creating DS you will have to source system as BI DEV system.If you maintain conversion logical system in BI QA system saying that" if source is BI DEV then change it to BI QA"

Then once you import the transport source system will automatically change to BI QA system.

follow the same procedure in ECC system also.

Hi,

You can use following steps

1. Send the datasource first to ECC ensure they are activated

2. Carry out replication in the BW system

3. Once DS available,move your Infoobjects if any

4. Move your DSO/iNFOCUBE

5. Move Multiprovider

6. Move your queries

7. Move your Infosources/TR/TS

8. Move update rule/Transformations
