Transfer IP Address from Portal iView to Web Dynpro ABAP

Hi experts!

I am running a Web Dynpro Application in the SAP Portal and I am transferring user and system data to the WD Application using the AppIntegration (com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic). I use the Application Parameters of the iView an fill them with strings like 'IV_USER=<User.LogonUid>&IV_FIRSTNAME=<User.firstname>&IV_LASTNAME=<User.lastname>' etc. This works excellent.

Now my questions is if anybody knows the parameter for the client IP Address. I was searching the web and found multiple pages like http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1core/helpdata/en/36/5e3842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/content.htm but none of them gives the required information.

Can anybody help? Or how can if transfer the client IP Address from the Portal to the backend Web Dynpro Applicaton?

Thanks a lot!

Pascal

Hi Pascal,

You can directly fetch the client IP in WD ABAP. Refer to

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/43/036b1fdc7e22f2e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm

ALternatively you can use the customer exit to pass the client IP. As mentioned here

By the way have you tried <Request.RemoteAddress>. Not very sure of this but might work.

Thanks

Hi Prashant,

Thank you very much for your quick answer!

<Request.RemoteAddress> does not work but thanks for the hint anyway. I will try if the method GET_REMOTE_ADDRESS solves my issue and I will let you know about the result.
