while monitoring in sxmb_moni in the soap header we see trace option.
1.What is trace?
2.How it is useful while monitoring messages?
hey suresh,
i would say trace is the detail of everything that happens to a msg in IE. u can view the trace for every pipeline step. various services that are run in IE provide this trace...
as for hw is it useful... many a times wen u r stuck up with ur msg n u want to trubleshoot and see where excatly in a pipeline step the problem occured .. it can help!

Hi,
Trace is the place where you can view the flow of your scenario. i.e. how your message flows.
while developing objects, we create the meesage mapping first and then create the interface mapping. but at runtime, the inteface mapping is executed first then the message mapping.
Such things can be known from trace. It gives you step by step details of the message flow and is your message is stuck somewhere, it throws an error message.
>for eg. inteface determination not found.
Here you will understand that there is some problem with your interface determination step. If you come across such messages it becomes simpler to debug your scenario
Thanks
Hari.

Trace is the sequence of steps followed in processing the message by the IE. IT shows whether the message processed successfully or errors in case of any.
