Top N condition in hierarchy

I have a typical requirement where I have attached a Factory hierarchy to MRP controller infoobject . This MRP controller is part of my inventory cube characteristic. Now when I create a query I would liek to display the top 5 factories with max inventory. Factory is a hierarchy based on MRP controller grouping. I find that after attaching the condition to MRP controller the TOP5 FACTORIES in the hierarchy do not appear. System shows all the factories.

Please let me know if conditions can be applied to hierarchy or not. Is there a workaround

Have you tried selecting a different options for characteristic Assignment??

I didn't understand what exactly you mean by other options

When u create conditions, you have tab called CHARACTERISTIC ASSIGNEMENT.& other is GENERAL..which is like in what way you want to create conditions i.e based on which characteristic or whole characteristic in rows etc...you try choosing those option in that tab, so that you can find some ideas..
