Hi Everyone,
I have a customer for whom I'm implementing S/4HANA Public Cloud. For their delivery/freight, they outsource it to a third party to their customer. They also outsource installations and maintenance of their customer systems to a third party.
I tried creating service material of product type SERV with a 3rd Party SO w/o SN (CBNA) item category. However, upon creation of the sales order, an error popped up, saying that the combination of product type and the item category was invalid.
Note: Their invoice is such that it contains both the system being sold, maintenance, logistics and installation prices which would come from the sale document.
How can this be treated on SAP S/4HANA Public cloud.
I would need your assistance in resolving this as we cannot create service materials with item category NORM (Standard item)
I await your response. Thank you
Hello,
Sales module cannot cover third party service procurement and delivery. Instead, Service module will cover the third party service procurement. Refer to the chapter 4.2.1.1 #5 in the test script for the Scope Item: 3D2

Hello,
Is it possible that you define your material with item category group CBNA (3rd party w/o SN) instead of SERV?.
Since it will never be in stock and you will not have shipping notification it does not necessarily need to exist as a SERV and as a CBNA you will have the full range of item categories for 3rd party items available for this material, as below.
Please indicate if this is helpful. Thanks,
-Carlos
