Dear Community,

I'd like to ask about the job of the workflow specialists. Do organisations that adopt SAP Signavio Process Governance also employ workflow administrators as a full time specialists in the role? If so then what would the competencies, experience and qualifications needed for the job. Finally, where in the company org chart would this role sit?

As we see more companies using SAP Signavio Process Governance, extending the solution across multiple use cases ( more workflows, more configurations and admin, more projects' demand) some are looking to define job profiles and to hiring staff into the role.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!

Hi,

a customer told us that even though they use one workflow (aside from the diagram publishing workflow) relatively often, they do not see the justification of having dedicated staff for workflow administration. This makes it harder to provide proper in-house support though, as the qualities required are of course knowledge of the particular workflow and Process Governance engine, but also a good command of Javascript for any necessary adaptations which do not happen too often. Keeping good working knowledge of the workflow and not concentrated in one person I see as a challenge as well as a business risk.

It is therefore probably no suprise that they keep this within their central organization, combined with process modeling expertise. Ideally, this would be a specialist role. They could see a business case for on-call support for such services for most companies, unless the usage of Process Governance is spread among more workflows and also more business-critical.
