Test Plan Management-copy option

Derar frineds,

I am working on Sol Man 4.0. Patch level SP12.

I have created the test plan in STWB_2, with the name of TEST1. Under this plan i have assigned the test package & tester.

Now i want to create a new test plan namely TEST2 (Child test case), by copying the existing test plan "TEST1"( Parent test case).

I have successfully the copied the test plan from TEST1 to TEST2.

Now in STWB_2, i am choosing the test plan namely TEST2(child test case) & getting into "Change" mode.

If i goto change mode, in the test plan tree structure, system is wrongly showing the name of the test plan as "TEST1" (parent test case)instead of "TEST2"(child test case).

Why the system is not showing the child case name , ie, "TEST2" in change mode, instead of i t showing test plan TEST1?

Hi Senthil,

actually my system's as well on SPS12 and after applying the above mentioned notes everything is running fine. I cannot reproduce the problem when renaming the test plan title.

Perhaps it would be best to open a customer ticket...

Hello,

I remember a similar issue : Instead of a copy a reference to the source plan has been created.

This problem has been solved in SAP Note 1038029.

Dear Christoph,

I have referred the SAP note. This note would not solve my current problem. Anyhow i will apply this note, to avoid future problems.

My problem is:

I am want to create a new test plan by copying from existing test

plan in transaction STWB_2.

My existing test plan is :TEST-CASE-PMO

Now i wants create one more new test plan as "TEST-CASE-PMO-2" by

copying from "TEST-CASE-PMO".

While copying, i have copied the test packages as well as testers to

the new test plan.

Now my new test plan "TEST-CASE-PMO-2" is available. I am selecting

this test plan & getting into "Change" mode.

If i goto "Change" mode, in the test plan struture the texts are still

displaying the name of the test case from where i have copied the test

plan (ie, "TEST-CASE-PMO"), it in NOT displaying the current test plan

name (ie, "TEST-CASE-PMO-2").

Because of this, if i change anything, it is affecting the test plan

datas of "TEST-CASE-PMO", but not "TEST-CASE-PMO-2".

More precisely if i tell, the "Copy" option is not working properly.

After copying, the new test plan is still refering the test plan, from

where the test plan test plan has been copied. But it should not be.

Could you suggest me to solve this issue?

Hi Chris,

Thank you. It is working. But after applying this note, some other functionality has got disturbed.

The problem is:

1.Select your test Plan in transaction STWB_2.

2.Go to attributes icon (Control +F3)

3.Now goto change mode

4. In the "Title" field, change the name of the test plan ,save & come

out the "Attributes" screen.

5. Now the new name of the test plan is NOT getting displayed. Why?

After applying the notes (1041090 &1038029) the functionality got

disturbed. Before applying these notes it was working fine.

Please help me out
