Hi,
Any body kindly help me to know:--
How can we know the base tables of the data source of a Master data ?
And aslo the Extraction structure.
With rgds,
Anil
Hi Anil,
As of my knowledge the ROOSOURCE is the table datasources and there is a EXMETHOD field which shows whether it is using either Function module(F1) of View/table(V).Run the extractor in se11.
Finding the base tables for extraction structure is a bit tough situation,we need to take the help of FUNCTIONAL guys.Normally we search using the application(transaction) say for ex. if it is sales run VA01 in SE93,click display, dbl click the program and then ur search begins.
Ashish correct me if iam wrong .. Hope this helps you..
Regards
Lisa

Hi Anil!
I'm writing a weblog about this issue, but seems that everyone needs to know this info now and I have so little spare time...
anyway, in table ROOSOURCE insert your datasource. If the extraction method (EXMETHOD) is equal to 'V', it's enough to see EXTRACTOR field: this is the table/view from which your datasource take data...in other case (function module,...) I suggest to you debug it in RSA3 or to run it with the SQL trace activated...
Hope it helps!

Roberto

Anil,
with regard to data extractors -
1. If it is a function module , it is pretty hard to find the tables , but the extract structure can be found fro ROOSOURCE.
2. If it is a view - then no problem.
TO find the master data tables the options would be :
1. Run SQl Trace on the extractor and look for tables beginnning with TXXXXX these are usually the master data tables unless you have defined you own lookup tables.
2. Open the structure and go to the data element and run a where used list and you would get the tables and again look for the T Tables , this would ultimately lead you to the masters. The tables are slightly different for HR though.

Hi Anil,
I am not able to find answer to your other query.Request you to wait for other experts comment.
I think ROOSOURCE will solve your problem of Extraction Structure.
Still I will try your sec question and let you know.
