Hi Atul,

how are you doing ?

a good place to start is the development area for .net on SDN

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/dotnet?rid=/webcontent/uuid/3ecbe347-0a01-0010-5897-d... [original link is broken]

the SAP.NET connector is available on service marketplace [for which you need a login and password]

http://service.sap.com/connectors

SAP Help on SAP .NET Connector :

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e9/23c80d66d08c4c8c044a3ea11ca90f/content.htm

this is to start you off.

what software do you have already installed [Visual Studio 2003 ? VS 2005 ?]

based on that we could proceed.

with respect,

amit

Hi Atul,

Addition to Atul's help documents, If you think to use Connector 2.0 you can find a good documentation under help in .NET. you can search as "sap connector".

Hi Huseyin & Amit,

Thanks for ur replies. I am trying for the demo scenario available in the documentation with the SAP .net connector. But my problem is that I am not able to open the 'SAP .Net connetor wizard'.

Can you please suggest me any alternative for the same? Detailed explaination will be helpful.

Hi Atul,

As mentioned there are two connectors. Connector 1.0 and Connector 2.0.

If you are using connector 1.0, you need to open Solution Explorer and add new item and then in this list select SapProxy class. After selecting this, you need to enter the application server informations, username, password, etc. And then you will enter the rfc functions name and clicking next all these function will added in your sapproxy.

If you are using Connector 2.0, you will open Server Explorer(left side, if not seemed, go to view and select Server Explorer) Then you will see SAP Server. There is a document that comes with SAP Connector 2.0 file. you can find information how to get rfc functions.

And the important, you can not use .net connector in Visual Studio 2005.

Hi Atul,

I think there is no requirement to install SAP Fronted, you can give the connection parameters using custom parameters as giving SAP server ip, etc.

You need to install .NET 2003 or .NET 2002, not VS 2005. And there is two alternative for connector : 1.0 and 2.0. I recommend to use connector 2.0.
