Hello Daniel,

the following paper might be helpful, although it is not SAP specific:

Best Practices - Tuning and Monitoring Database System Performance

Also check whether database statistics are collected on a regular basis (Either via DB2 Autorunstats or DB13 planning calendar)

Furthermore check whether parameters are set according to SAP notes 1086130, 899322 or 584952

.

Hope this gives a first idea ...

Windows 2003 + db2 9.1

I need to backup of archivelog files and want to delete it subsequently in a safe way.

Is there anything like BRTOOLS in DB2 ?..if its please let me know how to use it effectively.

I appreciate the steps from your side.

Daniel,

When using the new logfile management (which you should do with DB2 V9.1), there is no brachrive, brrestore anymore.

Logfile archiving and deletion happens automatically

Kindly check the following document:

[IBM DB2 Universal Database for UNIX and Windows: New Log File Management |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/280b4546-0a01-0010-7d8c-82abb2296e1c]

and also this one:

Hello,

Just to add that IBM has published an online tuning guide for DB2 LUW in the DB2 Information Center:

Hope this help

Check

--> Performance Analysis and Measurements (at the bottom of the page)

There you will get various documents what you can check.
