Hi!! Everybody!!

I have installed EP 7.0 WITH ABAP+JAVA, HAVE APPLIED JAVA PATCHES ( HAVE SKIPPED ABAP PATCHES AS IT IS NOT INEVITABLE AT PRESENT NOW... ) AND WORKING TO ESTABLISH BACK-END CONNECTIIVITY OF EP 7 TO R/3.

THE PROBLEM I AM FACING IS AT THE INITIAL STAGE : To store the portal system object, I HAVE MADE FOLDERS : SAP NetWeaver Portal > Content Administration > Portal Content> Right Click > New > Folder - I have made 2 folders under a foder : Myfolder --> SystemFolder --> SAP_R3 . But when I go Sys Admin --> Sys Conf. --> Sys Landscape --> Portal Content --> My Folder --> Systems --> SAP R3 --> RightClick --> new --> only 'Folder' option is available !!! i.e. under folder > rightclick > new > System(from template) , System (from PAR) menus options are simply not available..!! Thus, I can't even launch the Sys Landscape wizard ..Pl. Help about this problem!!

Many Thanks in Advance...

Hi Everybody !!

..Well, even the senior lead person of our company couldn't reasonably identified the problems for this missing options in the menu and hence, it was decided to abandon that Portal Installation, Started from the scratch and the second time eveything was ok ..no missing option, no connectivity problems nothing... So, in a nutshell, no logical cause for this error was found !!!

But, still Thanks a Lot to everyone who had posted valuable suggestions...

Cheeres !!!

Hi Brad!!

Thanks a lot for your 2 quick and helpful answeres..

I had logged on as J2EE_ADMIN to the portal ...and The problem starts after I make MySAP/System/SAP_R3 folder path. After creating this folder / subfolder, when I

I tried the sys admin > sys config > sys landscape > right click on SAP_R3 subfolder ...then here, I see only a 'Folder' option under the ' New ' Menu ..whereas I DO NOT SEE ANY OTHER OPTION LIKE ' System ( from Template ) and System ( from PAR) UNDER THE ' NEW ' OPTION...which MUST be there in order to launch the Sys Landscape Config. Wizard ...So, basically I am stuck here ...However, I would make 'Admin' user through tr su01, would try to log on as that user to portal and see if I get those 2 i.e. System ..from template and System from PAR menu option...

I would revert back by Apr 21 ..as, I am travelling on Apr 20..

Thanks again..

With Regards..

Hi Rupen,

in su01, please verify that j2ee_admin and admin have Roles SAP_J2EE_ADMIN and profile sap_all.

In portal, user admin, give j2ee_admin and admin role pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role

Hi Brad!!

Sorry for being late... We have had some maintenance schedule in the week end...

Well.. I have made user Admin through SU01 with SAP_ALL profile ..still, while logging through that

use to the portal it gives error that " User Authentication Failes "..!!! Definitely it is not a password issue... some other factor is behind this.. Same way, for user J2EE_ADMIN through SU01 > Display , it says that ' User J2EE_ADMIN does not exist ' !!!

I will keep posting here , regarding this error..

Thanks a lot..

Regards..

Hi again,

sys admin, sys config, sys landscape, just right click, do a new folder, then right click again to do new, system from...

Use j2ee_admin to do that.

Hi !! Everybody !!

..This is with regard to my prev problem of not having the full menu under Sys LandScape Config Menu. I have, in fact had logged on as J2EE_ADMIN and when I tried to log on As Administrator , it

not only states that ' User Authentication Failed ' ...while I tried to generate a new password, to my

surprise, the default user Administrator is not created at all !!! I have searched for it several times, it is not there ..also, 'create user' option button is disabled...!!!

So, what could be the reason for not having the default user 'Administrator' in EP 7 ? ..Is it 'cause , I might have missed some post installation steps ( which I have double-checked as per the installation

guide.. and it doesn't seems so..!! ) or what else could have been the reason...?

Pl. help..

Many thanks in Advance...

Hi Rupen,

when you install an abap + java, the ume is in the abap stack.

In dual stack, the java admin is j2ee_admin, and administrator does not exist for the java stack.

If you want to do changes in the ume, please log in the abap stack, and use transaction su01.
