if your integration policy is to make all integrations go thorugh XI and for all known advantages of XI i.e. central monitoring of integration data , loose coupling, you should go for XI. else your webdynpro screens can always make use of CRM functionality exposed as webservices as model directly.

Here whichis better ? XI or webservices ?

Because we need to integrate different kind of web applications with CRM?

How to implement them ?

I would suggest go for XI using XI also you can generate Webservices.

Hi Kiran,

Let me explain me first the difference between the webservices and XI....These both are not the same.

Webservices are the funcitons which you can call remotely and you make us of any funciton and send the request to that webservice and you will get output....

where as in XI,the case is different...It is middleware tool which it can transform the source structure to requried target strucutre....If you use webservie you cannot achieve this funcitonality.

You have to use any middle ware between your EP Application to CRM system. you can use XI and you can implement by Choosing the Technical System as WebAsJava and you can Implement.

The XI will take care to receive the source message and it will convert according the reciever format and it will send back to the your targetSystem(CRM) system..

Hope I am clear.......If you have any clarification please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,

Chandu.

Hi Kiran

I Can give the best inputs , i have seen the integration between

Netweaver Application EP to XI then CRM or R/3

First make it very clear ,you are going for Standard content(Idocs,Bapi..)

or custom content(Imp)

If it is Standard then it better to go for as normal for R/3 system no difference

(Adapters like Idoc,Rfc,HTTP,SOAP)

if it is custom then it is better to go for EP to XI (Java proxy)

XI to CRM(Abap proxy)

If any issues on this integration ...EP to XI to CRM or R/3

i will help you on this

i hope this will clear your question

Hi Kiran,

Usually these kind of scenarios are SOAP - IDOC scenarios. The Webservice is used in EP that triggers the scenario. As usual standard IDOCs for CRM is used in the receiver side. There are also predefined XI content available for CRM integration.

Go thro the threads for more discussion on CRM integration with XI:
