Stored Procedure permission issue

Former Member

Hi,

Users are not  able to call Stored Procedures in SAP HANA created by other team member.Thet are getting error "insufficient privilege: Not authorized”.

The users have access to the particular schema.

Wanted to know if the owner of the strored procedure needs to explicity grant access to the user ?

Can we give generic access to the users?

Thanks,

Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

While defining procedure, you can select the following two types of Right's in wizards.

Definers right: System uses the rights of  the definer while executing the view or procedure for any user.

Invokers right: System uses the rights of the current user while executing the view or procedure.

If you have created procedure with Definer right's, then other users can execute procedure without any authorization issues.

Check what right's you have selected while defining the procedure ?

Hi Vaibhav,

The user says they are not creating stored procedures as part of packages but as catalog objects.

Is there any other way of doing this.

Thanks,

Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

Can you run this command in SQL Editor and then check whether its works.

GRANT EXECUTE ON SCHEMA "USER_SCHEMA" to _SYS_REPO with grant option

Hi Vaibhav,

That seems to work.

Thanks a lot.
