Hi all,

we have problems with our productive environment.

We think it is the indexing process.

How can I stop our indexing process?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Before disabling the index in this production system I’d investigate more what kind of problems you have – as you just mentioned ‘we have problems with our productive environment. We think it is the indexing process.’.

So KM offers some monitoring tools here, best to check via indexing monitor the system activities in that area. Be aware that there could be either crawler activities or accesses by TREX within indexing process in this area. This might be a general problem in setup and configuration of your index area. But again, without checking the emerging problems you mentioned this is just wild guessing.

Anyhow before changing index setup: See and adjust with your overall concept – What’s your design and setup for indexing, which datasources needs to be up-to-date in index / end users. Here a deletion or disabling of an index must not be an action and solution of your problem.

Yes deactivating works.

But two questions:

I must say that my index contains documents, so that its not possible to delete the index.

(1) What does deactivating my indexing process for uploading new documnets? Could I index them later?

(2) Could I found the already indexed docs furthermore?

Thanks for helping me

Steve
