Standard Layout sets re-import available?

Hi all,

I've made the 'mistake' of importing some layoutsets from a SP2 portal into a SP12 system. The import got corrupted and now none of the layout sets are working as they were (e.g. pictures are missing, lay outs are different).

I would expect the layout sets to be delivered with the KMC support package, probably even a a configuration archive (in other words the same format used for importing and exporting?

My approach is to re-import this standard content, and my questions are:

- is this even possible? if so how?

- is there a way to undo te previous import?

The last solution I have is to export all layout sets from another SP12 system and reimport them on the corrupted machine.

Thank you in advance

Hi Marcel,

> - is this even possible? if so how?

The config archives are part of KMC portal apps; so redeploying should return valid configs. The question is if the relevant apps are part of the last KMC patch, for instance.

I would just try to redeploy the last KMC Patch for SP12 (Patch 3, I think), with the setting to redeploy already deployed apps of the same version.

- is there a way to undo te previous import?

No.

This should work also; anyhow, I would suggest to patch both platforms to P3 of KMC before doing the ex-/import.

Hope it helps

Thanks Detlev,

6 points for now, and you'll get all 10 when this actually works. Since I do not have a backup shame I'll go with Stack13 (released today).

Is it possible to export just one layout set - I have created a custom layout set in my DEV portal and want to export it to QA.

THanks
