SSO Microsoft Windows Logon to Enterprise Portal

Hi,

Happy New Year!!

We're implementing SAP EP 6.0 SP14 & want to establish single-sign-on (SSO) for our users using Windows authentication (users should only authenticate on the LAN using their windows id & password stored in Active directory, thereafter they should be able to logon to Portal without authenticating again.

Where I can find documentation about this?

In document "SAP Active Directory Integration – SSO and Usermanagement" it shows the architecture, but it does not show the steps for the configuration.

Hi,

for SP14 you will have to use a separate IIS with the IISProxy-Filter by SAP. See:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a4/385bef3bd14241b9c4f36bd779537d/content.htm

and this blog on how this has to be configured:

However, you should consider updating to SP15, as end of maintainance for IISProxy is already anounced (SAP Note: 886214)

The alternative in SP15 is the SPNego Module in the J2EE Engine. You no longer need an IIS!. See:

Thanks Stefan.

Other question...

SAP EP 6.0 SP14 is installed on machine with Windows 2003 Server and IIS 6.0. Is possible to install IisProxy Module in the same machine?

Hi,

you can install on the same machine. If you have TREX on the same machine as well then i think we should ask TREX experts opinion on this, because TREX also uses IIS.

Hello,

Yes it can be done. We use a single box with Win2003 server. A portal - IIS + a trex. The machine has a lot of memory though and indexing is done at night when no searches are performed. So it's only recommended for a small installation ( few hundred users ).
