SSO implementation without EP

Hi

I'd like to implement a SSO project, perhaps with the siteminder solution. My question is : could I do this without the portal. I guess yes, because the sso logon ticket should be issued by a logon ticket provider. But ... I'm not sure.

Yes, Siteminder or Citrix and other third-party products work, even if the Portal is not part of the Applications behind the WebServer/Engine. The requirement is that you have a product/solution that issues the/a logon ticket as the ticket authority.
