SRM business content

Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out why SAP has installed a BW inside the SRM system.

I have succeeded in replicating data sources into this internal BW, but I can't find any SRM business content.

It seems like there is no business content.

Our basis guy told me that in the SRM installation, there is no special BI_CONT component like in a regular BW installation.

What am I missing here ?

Why I can't find the SRM business content in this internal BW ?

Any clarifications and explanations will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Amir.

hi Amir,

what's your srm version ? i checked srm 4.0 in system, no internal bw.

can you find the datasources ?

rsa5

0BW_DATASOURCES BW DataSources ROOT Application Components

...

0BBP Business-to-Business Procurement

0BBP_CONTR BBP Purchase Contracts - Single Documents

0BBP-IO Master Data for Business-to-Business Procurement

0BBP_BID 0BBP_PROC

can you execute rsa1 ?

have following business content infocube, ods ?

rsa1->business content->left panel 'object type', middle panel 'infocube'-'select objects', are there 0bbp_c01 and 0bbp_c02 ?

for ods, also 0bbp*, e.g 0bbp_bid ...

hope this helps.

Hello A.H.P and thanks for your reply,

My SRM version is 4.0 and I can execute all the regular BW Transaction codes like RSA1, RSA5, RSA6 and more.

I can find these data sources you have listed and I can even replicate it into the internal BW.

The problem is that in Tcode RSA1 under business content (like you described) I can't find any of the objects which concerned with the SRM application.

Thanks again, Amir.

Hi Sat,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I have tried this link.

The problem is that in Tcode RSA1 under business content I can't find all the objects which listed in the link you had attached.

Thanks again, Amir.

Hi A.H.P,

I can find only the technical and statistics objects.

I can't find the objects which concerned to SR.

My basis guy tells me that the BI_CONST special add on is not part of the SRM installation.

Thanks, Amir.

hi Amir,

yes, bi_cont is add-on for bw, since you have internal bw and need business content, you may need it.

are you going to use this srm internal bw for bw reporting ? (data modeling, extract data to this srm, etc ?) if not so then having the datasources is sufficient to extract srm data to your central bw. hope this helps.

Thanks A.H.P,

As I said before our basis guy told me that BI_CONT is not part of the SRM installation.

Can it be installed anyway on the SRM server ?

The internal BW inside SRM is 3.5 and our central BW is 3.1

Sap recommends to use SRM 4.0 with BW 3.5, that's why I wanted to use the internal BW for the SRM reporting needs.

In our central BW I can find the SRM business content but I assume it's does not contain all of the application content of SRM 4.0.

Thanks, Amir.
