Spool status is '-' for RFC user after label printing

Hello Experts,

I am facing a weird issue while printing TO label. There is a RFC which gets called from scanner application to create TO and print label. Scanner application uses a system user id to call the RFC.

When scanner application calls RFC, spool is generated for label but its status is '-' and due to which it is not getting print immediately. While for other user(dialog), spool's status is Completed and immediate printing is happening.

I checked in user profile of system user and Print Immediately is active for the user. Thanks for your help.

I guess the barcode (?) scanner is connected to a computer with SAP GUI installed, and that you use a RFC connection with GUI connection enabled so that the printout works through the printer connected to the GUI of the device, right?

You shouldn't use a system user, as it can't be used for GUI connections.

Instead, use a user of type service.

Of course, people could log in with a service user, but they shouldn't know the user password.

Thanks for your help Sandra.

In our scenario, scanner is connected to WLAN and sending request to SAP system through RFC FM call.

What is between WLAN and RFC executed at SAP side? (what client program does the RFC call, on what client computer, how is the RFC call done?)

As per user there is an interface between server(to which WLAN is connected) and SAP and using that interface RFC FM is called.
