Source system is Inactive in BW

Hello Experts,

I have this issue when I checked my Process chains which failed at IP level.When I tried checking the cause the message says source system is inactive.

I checked the connection soource system tab. I got the error message for Source system check.

Source system   ERCXXXX is inactive.

BI is unknown in source system.

BI Idoc system ZSBA002 is not is not same as source system IDOC type.

I tried to activate the client from BW this time I have error mesages.

I checked all the posts in forums.but could not get helpfull ans. Hence posting this.

The connection worked fine earlier

Hi All,

Same issue was resolved by me.Below steps need to carry out.

1) Login to source system and go to Tcode we20 and click on partner type LS and select desired source system .and then click on classification tab change the patn status Avtive.

2) Client need to open in source system.

3)Logon in to BW system and run tcode RSA1 and right click on source system

4) Click on Restore it will ask ALEREMOTE pwd in source and BW system and schedule as a back ground job.

5) After finish restore click on activate.

This issue mostly occurs  after client refresh only.

Hi,

This is a BASIS issue...

Have you checked the RFC connection between the systems is working fine or not?

As you said while checking the source system its displaying the error as --source system is inactive.

its a RFC connection issue... contact BASIS this issue will be solved.

Hi,

What about PC's after this process chain.?Are they fine?

In RSA1 --->source system ---check your source system whether it is active or not.

And Check in WE02 for RSINFO against this IDOC also Check in SM37 in source system for this request.If you dont find any of these then contact your Basis team.

Hello Anand,

The other PCs as well are not working I mean at IP level where the source system in ECC for CRM the IPs are working fine.

Now I checked the client ECC in the source system tab it says source client ECCXXX is inactive.

What is the sol you propose for this. Are we sure that this has to do with Basis because before going to them I wanted to make sure it should be Basis.

There is no request triggered how would it as the source system is not active.

Hi,

Yes,contact your basis team.But I dont know the reason why it happened.

My Basis has run some settings and Functional module to solve this the connection is ok now.
