If you want to have them sorted while fetching from database with select statements you can use order by clause in select statements.

ORDER BY Clause

Variants:

1. ... ORDER BY PRIMARY KEY

2. ... ORDER BY f1 ... fn

3. ... ORDER BY (source_text)

for sample code check about the abap key word documentation for order by

Hi Arun,

There's no such a thing as sorting a transparent table. Or any other kind of table in the database for that matter.

If you want to sort the data, you would most probably be needing to do it for the purpose of a report or some other application. In that case, you would have to fetch the data from the database table into an internal table in your program and then sort the data using the SORT statement on internal table.

Hope this clears your doubt. But in the future, it would certainly help us respond to your queries if you are more articulate about your requirement.

Anand Mandalika.
