Smart Field With Value Help

Hello,

Is it Mandatory to bind the element when using a Smart Field with Value Help ?I tried with Bind Element in the Controller it is working but if I don't have any Binding specified then the Smart Field was not working , Can you please let me know if we have an Alternative to this ?

Could you tell us in which scenario you would like to use that?(without using the element binding)

Can you not use Value Help annotations from CDS instead?

Binding is required to tell the UI5 framework that which annotation to apply to the Smart Field control.
