Simple Variable Text Replacement

Hi guys,

I have the following Layout

Layout Category : Key Figures in Data Columns, Row Defined Individually

  BPS Version          -> Header
  Currency             -> Header
  Fiscal Year Variant  -> Header
  Fiscal Year/Period   -> Header
  My Key Figure -> Lead Column

In my LAYOUT : DATA COLUMNS

Here, I have specified my

  Heading              -> <b>TPERACT</b>
  Key Figure           -> NEWLISTKF

I created a variable '<b>TPERPLAN</b>' on Characteristic 'Fiscal Year/Period' with

Replacement Type = User Defined Value

Selection Condition = 001.2005

Restriction of Values Required by User = Ticked

Input Allowed by User = Ticked

So, when I execute my Layout it looks as such

  Key Figure   January 2005  Unit
  KF-Value1       XXX        USD
  KF-Value2       zzz        USD
  KF-Value3       YYY        USD

My issue here are :-

1) The January 2005 does NOT get replaced according to my 'Fiscal Year/Period' in my Header

2) How can I hide the UNIT display ?

Thanking in advance

Hi John,

1) The January 2005 does NOT get replaced according to my 'Fiscal Year/Period' in my Header

For the above problem specify TPERPLAN in the heading of the Data Column it will give you the fiscal year/period selected.

Not sure about 2.

Cheers

1. Instead of fiscal year period in the header, have it in the data columns, make it dynamic replacement in the first screen of layout builder. In the data columns, select put a check mark in column "Dyn" for dynamic. Hopefully this sud solve your problem

2. To hide the unit display, depending on how the key-figure is used, u sud see a column called "No units". Check mark on this column hides units.

Hope this helps.

Hi Nimmie,

Could you please specify where exactly can I find this "No Unit" check mark ?

It is in the data columns or Lead columns depending on where you place the key figures.

Hi Ashish,

<b>"You can hide the Unit Display by using the NODIM() function in the Data Functions."</b>

--- Where do I find this Data Functions ? Is it my LAYOUT:Data Column ?

<b>"And what is it displaying currently..Is it displaying the Text variable name..??"</b>

As I Execute, my Layout it looks as such

  Key Figure   January 2005  Unit
  KF-Value1       XXX        USD
  KF-Value2       zzz        USD
  KF-Value3       YYY        USD

With reference to my earlier post, I have specified that I have

Fiscal Year/Period in Header Column.

In my LAYOUT : DATA COLUMNS

Here, I have specified my

       Heading              -> <b>TPERACT</b>
       Key Figure           -> NEWLISTKF

So, when I change my Fiscal Year/Period in my Header, the TEXT on my Column Heading(represented by TPERACT) should also follow suit.

As in, when I navigate to 005.2005, then the Column Heading should also be May 2005(instead of what's happening now where it`s always January 2005)

Please help!
