Hi friends,

We are implemetaing BI7 for bellow modules, and R/3 is implemetated in year 2002, and we wish to pull all data from year 2002.

1.MM (2LIS_03_BX,2LIS_03_BF,2LIS_03_UM)

2.PP (2LIS_04_PEMATNR)

3.QM (2LIS_05_Q0ITEM)

4.SD (2LIS_11_VAHDR, 2LIS_11_VAITM, 2LIS_13_VDHDR, 2LIS_13_VDITM)

i have follwing points can anybody will focus on it.

1.Which sequence should be maintend to fillup the setup tables?

2.is it neccessory to to take downtime of R/3 and fillup setup tables? how to minimize the downtime?

OR give the selection criteria on year field and take only downtime for current year criteria?

3.after filling setup tables in R/3, is it neccessory to take downtime for data upload in BW?

4.In BW which update mode to be use? (upload the data in initial load with data transfer or do the init without data trasfer and then do the fullupload?)

5.what precaution to be taken in this process

6.kindly give me the steps for it

Hi,

1.Which sequence should be maintend to fillup the setup tables?

You can go with any order. That means you can go application by application (03 first ,04 next,..etc and vice versa) .

2.is it neccessory to to take downtime of R/3 and fillup setup tables? how to minimize the downtime?

Ofcourse it is necccessory to have down time when we are filling set up table.

For better understand ing the concept go through the Mr. Robertro webblogs avialablin SDN.

And also go through the How to document avialable in SDN/Service market to know about down time.

OR give the selection criteria on year field and take only downtime for current year criteria?

It is a good workaround. see the note:753654

3.after filling setup tables in R/3, is it neccessory to take downtime for data upload in BW?

No need.Down time is required only for Delta init and also only for LO technique DS.

4.In BW which update mode to be use? (upload the data in initial load with data transfer or do the init without data trasfer and then do the fullupload?)

In any way you can go .

5.what precaution to be taken in this process

Donot schedule the collective run(which can scheduled in LBWE) untill you complete the Delta init for all Datasources in that apllication.

6.kindly give me the steps for it

I Strongly suggest you to go through the Webblogs by Mr. Robertro.

hi

master data first then the transactional data..

if downtime not considered you may lose some data (records)...

first do a full load to load all the data...then do init without data transfer to set the delta...and then delta's to load only data which has changed...

check this..

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/80/1a65dce07211d2acb80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

hope it helps..

cheers.
