Sender Mail Adapter Problem....!!!

Former Member

Hi

I am trying a Mail2 scenario, in which my sender mail adapetr should pick the mail from sender mail server and should send it XI then XI will send this mail to another mail Server.

In IMAP server, we have created a User: Arpit and the same details(Username & Password) have been provided in mail adapter configuration parameters.

I have used the following configuration parameters for sender adapter:

Transort Protocol--- IMAP4

Message Protocol --- XIPAYLOAD

URL --- imap://imapserver//UserAccount

I think there is some problem in the URl only. kindly let me know how should the URL look like.

Regards

Arpit Seth

Hi Werner

Actually in our server there is following folder hierarchy.....

Domain>User Folder>Inbox

So there are many users and each User Folder has a Inbox folder inside it and the mail is present in this Inbox.

Thus i can't understand what URl i should give.

Is your URL picking the mail from the server.

And one more thing what is the format of mail in Inbox which the sender adapter is picking.

Kindly help me.

Arpit

Hi Arpit,

...we are on SP10...

I just took this setting from the administrator.

Do you have made a test without the "user folder"

Whith the URL I gave to you it works fine.

What do you mean with format?

If you mean MAIL PACKAGE it works in both ways.

At the momemt we are receiving text/plain messages, but here we have the problem, that the CONTENT is an XML message. But then the tag delimiters < > are converted to "<" or ">" or so.

I hope to find a solution the next time.

best regards

Hi Arpit,

Have a look at the following note 748024. It might be of some help.

Hi Arpit,

I am working at the moment with the mail sender adapter.

The URL I use is:

imap://imapserver/inbox

there is no information about the user account in the URL, this is directly handled.

The URL seems correct - besides a double slash:

imap://imapserver/UserAccount

Which SP do you have? Which Mail Server? Does the mail receiver adapter work?

hi,

Did you followed the following step described in SAP Library page "Configuring the Sender Mail Adapter"

Set the adapter to Active to enable messages to be exchanged.

You might have forget to do that.

Hi Stefan

I am working on SP9.And my mail receiver adapter is working well as i had completed a scenario successfully using that.

Regarding thedouble slash used in URL it is correct as it is given in help.sap.com.
