Security pop up after logging off from portal

Former Member

Hello Experts,

Before we start, let me tell you that I did some RND work and have found some solutions regarding this at Microsoft site.

and also have found this.

Issue: When I log off from portal, we get this secuirty pop up stating

"You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secured......... Yes ..No"

The main problem is, when the user log in to the production portal, he is not able to see the same error on the same machine which was used when he was testing in the Test Portal and got that error during testing.

So, if it would have been IE issue, he must be facing this log off issue from Production Portal too, which is not the case.

Can someone please guide me ?

I am totally lost..

Regards,

Rajat

Hi,

looks like a switch from HTTPS to HTTP is occuring. Your test portal is running under SSL and the logoff URL is just plain HTTP?

Hi guys,

We resolved this issue in our Test system by maintaining the server name (sapqaXX.YYY.COM) in the parameter icm/host_name_full in T Code RZ10.

Procedure:

1. Go to T code RZ10 and select the Instance Profile. Check Extended Maintenance and hit Change.

2. Hit New and in Parameter Name use icm/host_name_full. For Parameter Value use your server name (sapqaXX.YYY.COM).

3. Save and click Yes to activate.

Restart the system after which the parameter should be active.

hi all,

The problem has been solved. what we did was to put the site in the "trusted list" on the internet security settings.

Marks are awarded. thank you

Hi Rajat,

Could you find a solution for this problem later on? We are facing a similar issue and wanted some assistance.

In our case though, the pop up appears in both the test and the subsequent systems. It could have been an IE settings issue but then this appears even when the user logs in through other browsers.

Even more wierd aspect is that it runs fine when we try logging off from our end. It only appears on the clients end.

Please help.

P.s.- I use IE 6 and the client tries it on IE 8

Hi,

I have checked everything, our portal is HTTP, there must be something wrong with the log off button, the thing is there is some other developer who did something in Production environment and this problem was solved.

I am trying to get in touch with him. as soon as i get the solution will paste it here.

Thanks,

Rajat

Hi,

maybe your developer has changed the logoff code and included an additional verification.

You could also check if work protect mode is turned on, meaning: when clicking logoff, some applications are opened with session data.

Hi Rajat ,

If a switch is occurring between http/https or vice versa then please try adding the log off link URL to your trusted sites and test .

hi Mayank,

In my case, the test portal is redirected from a https to http post log-off so I could understand the pop up appearence. but for the production system the direction takes place from https -> https only. So ideally this error shouldnt pop up right?

Also, the production portal error appears only from the client machine(/s). Where as on my end the pop doesnt get displayed at all.

Could this be a browser settings issue?

check with your login details in Client machine. if the same pop up occurs there then its a browser issue since in your machine its not coming . change the security settings , privacy to low and trusted sites etc other wise its an error wit User permissions. check the permissions of the user/s on logon page.

Hi Rajat,

End users can have various toolbars/ pop up blockers in the browsers. This may cause a problem

I am just guessing.

Rajat,

Please try check for any portal certificate got expired

Pop up may come if you are trying open/navigate/refer a http based web url from your https based portal. please check this also.
