Search help dialog box

Hi. I am creating a search help with the following code.

SELECT-OPTIONS s_txjdp for bseg-txjcd

MATCHCODE OBJECT ztax.

There are 5 input parameters and equal no. of output params. However it is not displaying a dialog box for search help selection at F4. I am using a search help exit in which I have written the logic in the SELECT section only.

Please let me know if anyone has faced this before.

Thanks

Hey Max

Thanks for your reply.

The only problem was that I had not selected the 'dialog with value restriction' in the dialog behavior combo box while creating the search help.

Choosing that it works just fine.

Hi

I don't understand very well your problem, but you should consider that:

SELECT-OPTIONS s_txjdp for bseg-txjcd

MATCHCODE OBJECT ztax.

it's a wrong statament if ZTAX is a SEARCH HELP.

Infact the matchcode object was tool to find data before search help was introduced (from release => 4.0A): so MATCHCODE and SEARCH HELP are different object.

The option MATCHCODE OBJECT shuold be used to call a matchcode and not a search help.

The problem is this option works fine for SEARCH HELP if the its name is less long 5 char.

If you want to link a search help you should use the event:

AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR .....
